The island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii is home to the capital, Honolulu. This is by far the biggest and most populated island in the Hawaiian Island chain. The island itself is around 48 miles long and 31 miles wide at its widest point. Oahu is actually home to three official counties, Honolulu County, Hawaii County, and Kauai County. It is home to the state's only true city, Honolulu. In fact, in terms of land area (within the island Oahu), it is actually more than three-quarters urban.
